chipm-bioChip has served as the Community Life Pastor since 2007 after having served as a life group leader and director in the 4 years prior. In his current role Chip, along with Aaron Robinson, oversees life groups, missions and the hospitality ministries. Chip is passionate about community and raising up leaders in their unique and sometimes unexpected calling in life.

Chip received his bachelors of science degree in oceanography from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1981. From there he worked on various research vessels up and down the West Coast and even met his future wife, Corinne, at sea while working for the USC Marine Support Facility in Southern California. This led them to spend the next few years living in the U.S. Virgin Islands doing dive and sail charters. They returned to San Diego in 1985 where Chip worked as a trainer at Sea World. In 1990, through the invite of a friend, Chip and Corinne accepted Christ into their hearts at an Easter service at Sea World of all places! Shortly thereafter, God placed an irrevocable calling on their lives for missions and small groups. This led them to move to Colorado Springs in the Spring of 1993 where Chip worked bi-vocationally as a tile contractor and traveled the globe with a wheelchair ministry he helped birth.

Chip and Corinne have one daughter, Kierra, who attends Oklahoma Baptist University where she plays soccer and is pursing a degree in nursing with the intent of being a medical missionary. They love just about anything outdoors from hiking to skiing and even still get their water fix with an occasional scuba diving trip or boat outing on the “pond” at Lake Pueblo. Their life motto of “Why Be Normal’ continues to fuel their passion for living a joy-filled life that is sold out for Jesus.

“God works all things together for good to those that love Him and are called to His purpose!” – Romans 8:28
