In July, Mountain Springs once again took a short-term missions team to Swaziland, Africa. This year we partnered with Abandon Babies for Christ, Half Way House, The Luke Commission, Ambassadors of Hope, Adventures in Missions, Sports for Christ, and Leadership Development Training.
Looking back, there were so many highlights – from handing out shoes to almost 1000 children, to training over 200 leaders on servant leadership, to loving on orphans and vulnerable children. Even as we were used for his Kingdom, God did a unique work within us. Being Jesus’ hands and feet and showering his love on others blessed us beyond measure.
Our team also scouted out MSC’s very first Care Point sponsorship, something we hope to start in January. A Care Point is a parcel of community land set aside for investing in the lives of children through feeding, clothing, discipling, and encouraging them. This area hasn’t seen any food distribution for over three years, but we will start providing two meals a day, six days a week. We will also invest in many capital improvements. We are excited to partner with Swazi leadership in these ways to build relationships and transform a community.
As we embark on this new endeavor, we pray you will join us. Mountain Springs next mission trip to Swaziland will be June 9 – 20, 2018.
